David Hanes-Gonzalez was born in Chicago to a Mexican mother and Greek American father. David uses his camera to create storytelling imagery that delves into cultural identity within subcultures.

Work
In 2023, David exhibited, No Te Dejes (Don't Give Up), a 2-year body of work on Mexican boxing culture and identity in partnership with The World Boxing Council and Cleto Reyes. Since its debut, No Te Dejes (Don't Give Up) has been published by a dozen major media publications in Mexico and the U.S. / Europe, including features in NPR and Huck Magazine.
